LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Evander Kane is thought of as the tough guy on the ice for the San Jose Sharks, but the Cosmopolitan Hotel says the Sharks forward is a coward who skipped town without paying back a debt.

The Cosmo is suing Kane, saying they wrote a number of gambling markers (8 in all) for Kane totaling $500,000 back in April, at the time the Sharks were taking on the Golden Knights in their tanley Cup playoff series.

Markers are special credits that allow gamblers, if qualified, to more easily receive access to large amounts of money on the spot.

Kane certainly qualifies, financially. He recently signed a 7-year, $49 million deal with the Sharks, a deal that entered its second year this season.

Kane's camp has yet to comment on the lawsuit.
