LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - A principal at Clark High School has been the source of controversy, but he will step down after dozens of parents complained about his work performance at a recent Clark County School Board meeting.

An email was sent to staff on Tuesday by Region 2 Superintendent Debbie Brockett announcing that Principal Antonio Rael and Assistant Principal Christina Bentheim would not return for the rest of the semester.

Representatives from the school district were at tje school this week to interview teachers and students about their concerns about changes that Rael had been implementing.

A number of staff had transferred from Clark since Rael became principal, with many complaining of micromamaging at the school under the new regime.

Rael had defended his methods as a discipline that the school badly needed.

Sam Scavella, the School Associate Superintendent, will work with Clark High School until a new principal is chosen next semester.
