LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Las Vegas will be taking one small step toward getting back to normal this weekend.

Cinemark says it will reopen some of its theaters nationwide, including some in Las Vegas, on Friday.

The company also says there will be staggered showtimes and face masks will be mandatory.

  • Century 18 Sam's Town
  • Century 16 Santa Fe Station and XD
  • Century 16 South Point and XD

Cinemark says not to expect any major new releases riolling out on opening weekend as studios want to see if there's an interest in going back to the movies before rolling out their big-money projects. Many movies that had been planned for summer release have been postponed until the fall, with some held up until 2021.

Also, the AMC Theater chain announced that some of its locations woulsd be coming back next week. Two Las Vegas AMC locations- Town Square and Rainbow Promende, will be reopening on Thursday, with reduced prices for shows.

The theaters are offering a special deal on August 20th and will roll back prices in a promotion called “Movies in 2020 at 1920 Prices” which means movie-goes will only pay 15 cents on reopening day.
