LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - While most of the rest of the country has been dealing with early taste of winter, Southern Nevada has enjoyed nice, calm mild conditions.

That comes to an end on Tuesday night.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the higher elevations of southern Nevada, including the Sheep and Spring Mountains. The watch begins and Tuesday afternoon and lasts into Thursday.

By the time the weather system moves on, 1-2 feet of snow is expected above the 7000’ level, with 2-3 feet on the mountain peaks.

The Valley will get rain and much cooler temperatures. Highs aren’t expected to get out of the 50s Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

A slight warming trend is forecast for the weekend, with sunshine and highs crawling into the low 60s
