LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - An hours-long standoff in the central Valley Wednesday afternoon ended peacefully with an arrest.

It all began around 2:30pm after police tried to stop a man driving recklessly near I-15 and Flamingo. The vehicle was able to evade Metro police, but was later discovered near Washington and Rainbow.

Police say the man fled toward a nearby apartment complex. After trying and failing to get into a couple of units, he found a door to a stranger’s apartment that was open and barricaded himself in that residence.

After several hours of negotiations, the man surrendered peacefully and now faces a multitude of charges. No one was hurt.
