LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - On the day that was originally set for a strike, the Clark County School District's Teacher's Union voted to accept a new 2-year contract.

For months, the Union and the Clark County Education Association had struggled to come to an agreement on a new deal, but a couple of weeks ago a deal was hammered out.

It's includes a three percent pay raise, step increases for educators that complete courses that further their education and increased contributions to teachers' health premiums.

Teachers had threatened to walk out on September 10th if an agreement couldn't be reached.

The next move is a vote before the Clark County School Board. That vote is set for Thursday.
