Barricade Situation In SW Ends Peacefully

LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - For the third time is as many days, Metro Police responded to a standoff that forced a road closure in the southwest part of the Valley.

Police were called to an apartment complex in a neighborhood in the 5400 block of south Fort Apache by a man who claimed to armed. The man was also making some unspecified threats.

After arriving on scene police asked the man to come out of his apartment but the man refused and the standoff was on. Fort Apache was closed between Russell and Hacienda while police negotiated with the man.

After roughly seven hours, then man surrendered without incident and was taken into custody. No one was hurt. 

The identity of the man has not yet been released.

Standoffs involving Metro Police also occured on Monday and Tuesday, with both ending without incident or injury.
