Lauren Prescia and Cameron Hubbard-Jones were both in court Monday after missing appearances last week due to what were called medical issues.

Police say that on the night of July 12th, Prescia and Hubbard-Jones were racing each other on Rampart at speeds exceeding 100mph when Presica slammed into another car at Lake Mead Boulevard. The force of the crash sent Prescia's car into a sign and severed her vehicle in two.

Prescia faces charges of child abuse, driving under the influence, and reckless driving resulting in death.

2nd degree murder charges were also added to the charges against both parents.
