LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT)- Allegiant Stadium is still on track for an August 2020 opening as the Raiders come to Las Vegas, but the Las Vegas Review Journal is reporting a bit of a snag in the construction process.

The RJ is reporting that the installation of the stadium roof won't be happening until May, months longer than planned. The team is expected to give more details on that later in the week.

Contractors building the stadium prepared last summer to lift the cable net, which is designed to support the translucent roof panels, to the top of the stadium.Grand Canyon Development Partners reported work “was suspended pending resolution of challenges created as a result of overstressing the stadium’s structural members.”

Nevertheless, officials working on the nearly $2B stadium say that overall construction remains on schedule to host the first Raiders' pre-season game next August.
