LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - In what seems to be a daily thing on Valley roads lately, a person was killed after being struck by a car.

The latest fatal auto-pedestrian accident occurred in the southeast Valley at Pecos and Harmon. Police say that just before 5pm, the victim was walking outside of a marked crosswalk when she was hit by what police say was an older model Ford SUV. She was taken to Sunrise Hospital but passed away.

The driver of another vehicle stopped just short of striking the woman and called police. That driver remained on scene and cooperated with investigators.

The name of the victim hasn't been released, with police only saying she was 57 years of age.

Earlier in the day, police responded to a single vehicle crash near Ann and 215. The lone occupant of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. His name also has not been released as police continue to investigate.
