LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - A Garside Junior High School student was placed under arrest on Thursday morning after school officials made what were called "terroristic threats" against the school.

Fellow students heard the girl making the threats and informed administrators, who then contacted Clark County School District Police.

The girl admitted to making the threats and was taken into custody. Her identity wasn't released due to her age.

School police went to do a weapons check at the girl's home and found a handgun, which was booked for safe keeping.

The girl was booked into the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center.
