LAS VEGAS (KXNT) - The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will make the following U.S. Highway 95 ramp and lane closures in northwest Las Vegas:

May 14 (Tuesday Morning—Friday Afternoon)

• U.S. Highway 95 northbound will be restricted to one travel lane between West Elkhorn Road Sky Canyon Park Drive from 9 p.m., May 14, until 5 p.m., May 17, in northwest Las Vegas.

May 15 (Wednesday)

May 15-16 (Wednesday Night—Thursday Morning)

• The North Sky Canyon Park Drive onramp to U.S. Highway 95 northbound will be closed from 11 p.m., May 15, until 2 a.m., May 16, in northwest Las Vegas.

May 15-16 (Wednesday Night—Thursday Afternoon)

• The North Sky Canyon Park Drive off-ramp from U.S. Highway 95 northbound will be closed from 9 p.m., May 15, until 3 p.m., May 16, in northwest Las Vegas.

May 17 (Friday)

• The North Sky Canyon Park Drive onramp to U.S. Highway 95 northbound will be closed from 9 p.m. until 5 p.m., May 17, in northwest Las Vegas.

The temporary closures are needed for open grade paving work as part of a $78 million, six-mile-long widening and upgrade of U.S. Highway 95 between Ann and Kyle Canyon roads that broke ground in January 2018. The project calls for expanding the highway from four to six lanes from Durango Drive to Kyle Canyon Road, constructing Elkhorn Road carpool access ramps and building a diverging diamond interchange at Kyle Canyon Road. The project is scheduled to finish June 20.

Motorists should use caution while traveling through the work zone, heed construction signage, and take alternate detour routes, if possible. NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but unscheduled changes, closures, and restrictions are possible due to weather or other factors. For the latest state highway conditions, visit nvroads.com or call 511 before driving.

NDOT will also do an on-ramp closure. Transportation workers will close the Durango Drive to northbound U.S. Highway 95 onramp from 9 p.m., May 14, until 3 p.m., May 15, in northwest Las Vegas.
