LAS VEGAS (KXNT) - The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) is celebrating the substantial completion of the new $63.4 million Interstate 15-U.S. Highway 93 (Garnet) interchange in unincorporated Clark County. The 16-month fast-track project improves safety and operational efficiency to the Garnet interchange while adding crucial capacity along north U.S. Highway 93.

Celebration ceremony begins at 11 a.m., on Thursday, December 13.

Use these directions to get to the celebration:  Travel Interstate 15 northbound, taking Exit 64 at U.S. Highway 93 and continue northbound to Grand Valley Parkway. Turn left and then right onto the frontage road continuing northbound to the cul-de-sac. (Located roughly 20 minutes north of downtown Las Vegas).

This fast-growing corridor is increasingly important in moving freight between northern and southern Nevada as well as playing a key role in interstate commerce. It also provides crucial infrastructure for the Apex Industrial Park, improving mobility and access for attracting new companies and industries to the region, spurring new development, jobs and economic activity in Southern Nevada.

Lieutenant Governor Mark Hutchison, North Las Vegas Mayor John Lee, Nevada Department of Transportation Director Rudy Malfabon, and Nevada Trucking Association CEO Paul Enos as well as other officials and dignitaries.
