February 26, 2019 - 2:31 pm

LAS VEGAS (KXNT) - The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will close the U.S. Highway 95 southbound to Interstate 15 northbound ramp from 10 p.m., February 27, until 4 a.m., February 28, in Las Vegas. In addition, the Martin Luther King Boulevard on-ramps to U.S. Highway 95 southbound, and north and southbound Interstate 15 will be closed during the same time frame.

The temporary closures are needed for electrical work and sign installation as part of Project Neon’s nearly $1 billion 4-mile-long widening of Interstate 15 from the U.S. 95 interchange to Sahara Avenue, which broke ground in 2016. Project Neon is 93 percent finished and scheduled for substantial completion in this summer.

Motorists should use caution while traveling through the work zone, heed construction signage, and take alternate detour routes, if possible. Check the Project Neon website ( or Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter pages (@NDOTProjectNeon) for up to date information. There is also a free smartphone app available, plus a hotline available in both English and Spanish at 702-293-NEON (6366). NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but unscheduled construction changes, closures, and restrictions are possible due to weather or other factors. For the latest state highway conditions, visit or call 511 before driving.
