Metro Releases More Info On Friday Shooting

Suspect and Metro Officer Who Shot Suspect Both ID'd

LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Metro Police on Monday afternoon released more information regarding an officer-involved shooting on the city's west side on Friday night.

Police responded to a convenience store near Sahara and Hualapai just before 10pm after a man driving an SUV said a second man had robbed him. Police found a suspect matching that man's description at a nearby business and gave chase.

Investigators say that during the chase the suspect turned toward officers and reached toward his waist, causing officers to fire. 39 year-old Joseph Delucco was taken to University Medical Centerer.  Delucco was booked on counts of carrying and possession of a concealed weapon without a permit, violation of parole, kidnapping in the first degree and robbery with the use of a deadly weapon.

Officer Daniel Kranjcevich, 42, was identified as the responding officer in Friday's shooting . Kranjcevich has been with LVMPD since May 2016. He's been placed on paid administrative leave pending the completion of the investigation.

It marks the 10th shooting involving Mero Police so far in 2019.
