Interfaith Service To Honor Southern Nevada Police, Fire And Emergency Personnel

Multi-Denominational Service Set For Wednesday In North Las Vegas

NORTH LAS VEGAS (KXNT) - On Wednesday, there will be a unique interfaith event to honor Southern Nevada's first responders and their families.

Organizers are calling the event "Blessing of the Badge," and it's a multi-denominational service to honor North Las Vegas and Southern Nevada first responders and to pray for their continued health and safety. The event is free and open to the public, and all first responders, as well as members of the community, are encouraged to attend.

The event will be at the Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, located at 1915 Lexington Street. It is scheduled to run from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Expected to attend, and possibly give remarks are, Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church Pastor Welton Smith III, North Las Vegas Mayor John Lee, members of the North Las Vegas City Council, representatives of the North Las Vegas Police and Fire Departments, representatives of Las Vegas Metro Police Department, representatives of multiple Southern Nevada public safety organizations, and more than a dozen local religious leaders of various faiths will come together to support public safety and to promote the first responders who protect our community.
