I-15 Northbound Lane Closures, Traffic Switch Tomorrow Night In Clark County

New Interchange Relieves Congestion At Cactus Avenue And St. Rose Parkway

February 26, 2019 - 1:26 pm

CLARK COUNTY, NV (KXNT) - The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will close two travel lanes along northbound Interstate 15 between Cactus Avenue and St. Rose Parkway from 7 p.m., February 27, until 4 a.m., February 28, in Clark County.

The temporary closure is needed to switch traffic from the detour road back onto the mainline freeway as construction continues on the new $34 million Interstate 15 / Starr Avenue interchange, which broke ground in November 2017. The new interchange relieves growing traffic congestion at Cactus Avenue and St. Rose Parkway for improved traffic circulation. The project will also complete Starr Avenue between Las Vegas Boulevard to the east, and Dean Martin Drive to the west while adding new drought tolerant landscaping and drainage upgrades. Work is scheduled to finish this summer.

Motorists should use caution while traveling through the work zone, heed construction signage, and take alternate detour routes, if possible. NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but unscheduled construction changes, closures and restrictions are possible due to weather or other factors. For the latest state highway conditions, visit or call 511 before driving.
