LAS VEGAS (KXNT) - Get ready for more construction work on the interstate, and it begins Friday night.

The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will reduce Interstate 15 northbound to one lane between Charleston Boulevard and U.S. Highway 95 from 10 p.m., April 12, until 5 a.m., April 15, in downtown Las Vegas:

The temporary restriction is needed for paving and miscellaneous work as part of Project Neon’s nearly $1 billion 4-mile-long widening of Interstate 15 from the U.S. 95 interchange to Sahara Avenue, which broke ground in 2016. Project Neon is 95 percent finished and scheduled for substantial completion this summer.

Motorists should use caution while traveling through the work zone, heed construction signage, and take alternate detour routes, if possible. Check the Project Neon website (NDOTProjectNeon.com) or Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter pages (@NDOTProjectNeon) for up to date information. There is also a free smartphone app available, plus a hotline available in both English and Spanish at 702-293-NEON (6366). NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but unscheduled construction changes, closures, and restrictions are possible due to weather or other factors. For the latest state highway conditions, visit nvroads.com or call 511 before driving.

NDOT will also make the following ramp restrictions from 10 p.m., April 12, until 5 a.m., April 15, in downtown Las Vegas:

(Friday Night-Monday Morning)

*The Interstate 15 southbound off-ramp to Charleston Boulevard will only have access to westbound Charleston Boulevard.

*The Charleston Boulevard on-ramp to Interstate 15 southbound will only have access from eastbound Charleston Boulevard.

*The Charleston Boulevard on-ramp to Interstate 15 northbound will only have access to north and southbound U.S. Highway 95.

(Saturday Night-Monday Morning)

*The Charleston Boulevard on-ramp to Interstate 15 southbound will be closed from 10 p.m., April 13, until 5 a.m., April 14, and again from 10 p.m., April 14, until 5 a.m., April 15.
