LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Las Vegas is fondly known as the "9th Island" to residents of the state of Hawaii. Now, Hawaiian Airlines is making it a bit easier to get to Paradise.

On Monday, Hawaiian Airlines announced that it would start offering non-stop services from McCarran Airport to Maui, beginning on December 15th.

The non-stop flights would be offered three times a week. Hawaiian currently offers non-stop service from Las Vegas to Honolulu several times a day

To promote the new non-stop service, Hawaiian Airlines is offering discount fares of $199 each way between Las Vegas and Maui through Wednesday. There's an extra 10% discount if you're a member of Hawaiian Airlines' rewards club.

Hawaiian Airlines had previously offered non-stops from Las Vegas to Maui, but ended that service in 2012.
