LAS VEGAS (KXNT) - Mayor Pro Tem Lois Tarkanian will host a ceremony to kickoff renovation work at Woofter Park, located at 1600 Rock Springs Drive, on Monday, March 18 at 1 p.m.

Work on the park, located in Ward 1, will include the conversion of a two-area dog park to three areas. Fence lines will be modified, and a new covered seating area will be added. In addition, water fountains for dogs and their owners will be added, and sod and irrigation will be replaced.

“I’m very happy that we were able to budget for this much-needed project so that our furry friends have a renovated place to run and play,” Councilwoman Tarkanian said.

The project will cost $1.9 million and will also include a new walkway from the dog park to the parking lot, as well as new parking stalls and a parking lot ramp. Lighting at the park will be converted to LED.

The park will be closed during the renovations and construction is scheduled to be complete in the Fall.
