Expect Possible Delays With I-11 Lane Closures, Pavement Repairs In Henderson

Work Scheduled For March 13-14, Between Railroad Pass And Wagonwheel Drive

March 07, 2019 - 3:26 pm

HENDERSON, NV (KXNT) - The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will close the outside travel lane along north and southbound Interstate 11 between Railroad Pass and Wagonwheel Drive from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily, March 13 and March 14, in Henderson. The temporary lane closures are needed for pavement repairs. Maintenance crews will work the northbound lane on Wednesday, March 13, followed by the southbound lane, Thursday, March 14.

Motorists should use caution while traveling through the work zone, heed construction signage, and take alternate detour routes, if possible. NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but unscheduled construction changes, closures, and restrictions are possible due to weather or other factors. For the latest state highway conditions, visit or call 511 before driving.

NDOT will also be closing Oso Blanca Road at Farm Road from 7 a.m., March 11, until 6 p.m., March 15, in northwest Las Vegas.

The temporary 24/7 closure is needed for underground flood control enhancements as part of a $78 million, six-mile-long widening and upgrade of U.S. Highway 95 between Ann and Kyle Canyon roads that broke ground in January 2018. Las Vegas Paving is the general contractor. The project calls for expanding the highway from four to six lanes from Durango Drive to Kyle Canyon Road, constructing Elkhorn Road carpool access ramps and building a diverging diamond interchange at Kyle Canyon Road. Other enhancements entail placing decorative rock, erecting signage and lighting, and installing storm drainage. Construction is scheduled to finish later this year.
