LAS VEGAS (KXNT) - Victims of the 1 October shooting were shocked last week to discover the lawsuit filed by MGM Resorts against shooting victims as a protection against future suits against the company.

Appearing on Wake Up Las Vegas with Michael Castner Monday, Brian Claypool, an attorney representing some of the 1 October victims, said the suit was a slap in the face to survivors of the shooting.

"Essentially what this has done is revictimize and retraumatize all of these victims, including myself," Claypool said.

Claypool also said he expects the suit to be a "public relations nightmare" for MGM and doesn't believe the company will prevail in the suit.
