LAS VEGAS (AP) — The number of positive COVID-19 (coronavirus) cases in Nevada have jumped by triple digits each day this week

New numbers from Nevada Helath response says there are now 2,456 positive coronavirus cases in the Silver State, an increase of 138 from the previous day's numbers. The number of positive cases in Clark County rose by 131 to 2,0009. 81 people have died from virus-related complications deaths in the state, including two health care workers.

Among the new cases was a worker at Allegiant Stadium, as well as three employees of a North Las Vegas Walmart.

The Allegiant worker was the 2nd one at the project to test positive. Stadium officials said the employee was not in close contact with other workers due to the implementation of social distancing protocol.

The three Walmart employees all worked at the Lake Mead and Carey location. The people who worked closely with the infected workers at the store have been sent home to self-quarantine.

The vast majority of those getting tested test negative for the virus. According to the Nevada Health Response website, of the more that 20,500 tested, 18,248 have received a result of "negative"
