SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering disaster assistance loans to people in California, Arizona and Nevada affected by last month’s string of earthquakes.

The agency announced low-interest loans Wednesday for people whose homes and businesses were damaged by widely-felt quakes that struck July 4 through July 12. They include a 6.4-temblor on Independence Day, a magnitude-7.1 quake the next day and thousands of aftershocks, all centered near Ridgecrest in California’s Mojave Desert.

The Small Business Administration issued a disaster declaration for Inyo, Kern, Kings, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Tulare and Ventura counties in California. It also covers La Paz and Mohave counties in Arizona and Clark County in Nevada.

Authorities estimated the quakes caused at least $100 million in damage.
