Domestic Dispute Leads To Shooting, Parking Lot Standoff

Incident Closed A Stretch Of Rainbow For Hours

LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - -A woman was wounded in a domestic shooting at a local credit union Wednesday morning, a shooting that led to a standoff in a business' parking lot.

Authorities were called out to the Navy Federal Credit Union at Rainbow and Spring Mountain around 9:30am. Upon arrival they discovered a woman with numerous gunshot wounds.

The suspect in the shooting attempted to flee, taking refuge in a car in a nearby parking lot. He refused police demands to surrender and the standoff was on.

After about 90 minutes, negotiators were able to successfully convince the man, idenitied as 32 year old William Cass Jackson, to surrender. He was arrested without incident.Jackson is currently being held at the Clark County Detention Center. On Thursday a judge set bail at $300,000.

Jackson faces charges attempted murder with use of a deadly weapon, burglary while in possession of a gun, robbery with use of a deadly weapon, discharging a gun in a prohibited area, robbery with use of a deadly weapon, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, assault on a protected person with a deadly weapon, battery with use of a deadly weapon resulting in substantial bodily harm, first-degree kidnapping, assault and domestic battery.

The shooting victim, identified later as Jackson's mother, was rushed to the hospital, where surgery was performed. Her condition isn't known.

No one else was hurt.
